Jianbing – Chinese Pancake House

128 Market St, Manchester M1 1WA (14 min from Riverside)

This converted ice cream hut is a local hidden gem in Piccadilly Gardens. There’s no frills (or seats) here, just heavenly savoury pancakes that pack a punch of flavour for a bargain price.

Jianbing crepes are classic Chinese street food but are rare to find in the UK. Freshly made to order, pancake batter is evenly spread on a hot griddle and topped with eggs, spring onions, sesame seeds, chilli, and a huge choice of fillings, before being rolled into a monster of a snack. It’s a little different than most pancake day choices – but definitely one you can’t miss!
