Celebrating Eid and Ramadan with Our Community

Ramadan and Eid are two important occasions in the Islamic calendar. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims observe a month-long fast from sunrise to sunset, while Eid marks the end of this holy month. It is important to come together and celebrate these special occasions with our Muslim community.

The Break Fast Club

At Affinity Living, we wanted our Muslim neighbours to feel all the love and joy during this special time. So, we came up with the idea of throwing a cool “The Break Fast Club” for the whole month of Ramadan. Every week, as the sun sets, we laid out yummy treats and refreshing water for our Muslim pals to break their fasts together in a cosy communal vibe.

Celebration of Eid Mubarak

As Eid approached, we wanted to continue the celebration and make it even more special. After brainstorming ideas, we decided to host a traditional tea party for our residents on Eid day. We served traditional tea along with popular desserts such as baklava, kunafa, chocolate-covered dates and other treats. It was a great way to celebrate Eid Mubarak together as a community.

The tea party not only brought residents together but also provided an opportunity for non-Muslim residents to learn more about the significance of Ramadan and Eid in Islam. It was a great way to promote cultural diversity and understanding within our community.

Overall, celebrating Ramadan and Eid with our residents was a beautiful experience that brought everyone closer together. It showed the true essence of community spirit and highlighted the importance of inclusivity and acceptance. We are already looking forward to celebrating these occasions in the coming years and continue to foster a sense of unity among all our residents, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. Let us remember to always embrace diversity and celebrate our differences, for it is what makes our community stronger.
